Welcome to SAM’s Electronics and Communications Services Wing. Electronics and Communications Services covers a broad range of tasks that require specific skills or detailed processes for the setup, delivery, and management of technology-centric systems. This Wing pertains to the effort provided under contract by nongovernmental sources to design, develop, support, or improve technology-centric (or computer-based) systems. There is a wide variety in the services available in this Wing including engineering, network operations, software development, system fielding, system training, information assurance, and others.
Electronics and Communications Services consist of the following subdivisions:
Information Technology Services
The Information Technology (IT) Services Store in the Electronics and Communications Wing of SAM relates to creating and managing services throughout the service lifecycle. These services include, for example, Facility Operation and Maintenance, Systems Development, Data Entry, Telecommunications and Transmission, Cyber Security, and Data Backup to name a few.
Terminology. The terminology was updated to use Information Technology (IT) in place of Automated Data Processing (ADP) and closely follows the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) Product Service Code (PSC) manual. A complete list of services under category D3, Information Technology and Telecommunications is available in the FPDS PSC Manual.
Telecommunications Services
The Telecommunications Services Store in the Electronics and Communications Wing of SAM relates to voice communication and data transmission, teleprocessing and timeshare, information broadcast and distribution, digitizing, network management, and auto news and data.
Equipment Maintenance
The Equipment Maintenance Store in the Electronics and Communications Wing of SAM relates to the maintenance (setup, repair, upgrade, preventive care) of ADP and telecommunications equipment and networks, quality control, testing and inspection, modification, technical representative, and installation.
Equipment Leases
The Equipment Leases Store in the Electronics and Communications Wing of SAM involves the rental of ADP equipment, network support, and Telecommunications equipment and networks.
