Enter the Distribution Statement Code that the Contractor must mark on the technical data item and “ See Blk 16.
The Government determines the Distribution Statement! It indicates the extent the item is available for secondary distribution, release, and disclosure without further authorization from the “controlling DoD office”.
If the appropriate statement is not known or may vary among specified submissions of data, Block 16 may say something like “A distribution statement is required and shall be requested from the Government by the Contractor at least X days prior to when the Contractor needs it in order to deliver the data on time.”
